Ah yes, it’s about time we got a new HBO series. With True Blood and Eastbound and Down getting ready to hit their final seasons, HBO has released the trailer for a new series. True Detective from Nic Pizzolatto stars McConaughey and Harrelson as detectives on the hunt for a serial killer in New Orleans. The eight-episode series takes place over a span of nearly 20 years. Set to air in January of 2014, and from the looks of this trailer it should be pretty good. Enjoy.
Jay-Z continues to push boundaries in support of his newly released Magna Carta Holy Grail album. The rapper-mogul combines hip-hop, the arts, and live performance in his upcoming visual Picasso Baby. Dubbed a “Performance Art Film,” the Mark Romanek-directed (“99 Problems”) clip was filmed at New York City’s Pace Gallery in front of live spectators earlier this month. Fans can catch the world premiere of “Picasso Baby” on Friday, August 2nd at 11 pm EST exclusively on HBO. Leading into premiere, Jay-Z will appear on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher at 10 pm EST.
Bill Clinton is headed to HBO. According to The Hollywood Reporter, legendary director Martin Scorsese is set to produce and direct a documentary about the former President for the cable network. The telepic will explore Clinton's views on "history, politics, culture and the world, both while he was in office and in the years since," and be produced with Clinton's full cooperation and support.
